Blogs are a form of diary, and everybody has one, it seems. Some blogs allow readers to reply and spark lively debates and discussions. There's no way I can list them all here, any more than I can list all the great websites out there that feature barbecue. But I'll list a few of the better ones here. As I get time I will try to review them. For more, just go to blogger.com and search on barbecue, barbeque, or BBQ. A word of caution from my editor: Most blogs are produced by folks who are not trained as journalists, have no editors or fact checkers. As my editor points out, many apparently were thinking about food during English class. Hmmmm. Could he be talking about me?
Speaking about Meathead, here's a link to my blog, Thought For Food. Sometimes it's about barbecue, sometimes, not.
About links on this site. The links within the tan areas at the top and right of these pages are paid ads. Within the white, editorial content areas on this site, links and recommendations are absolutely positively not advertisements or paid endorsements. They are products, services, and websites I admire. Your suggestions are always welcome. Click here to send them to me. If you would like me to link to your website, click here to read my links policy first. Most product photographs are provided by the manufacturer, all the rest a made by Meathead.
BBQ General. Wiley and Janet share recipes, pix, and news from the competition circuit.
Bucky's Barbecue & Bread. Curt McAdams can cook and takes nice pix in Ohio.
Chefs Blogs. Links to chefs' blogs, and not just barbecue chefs.
Chocolateand zucchini. Thoughtful, knowledgeable essays by Clotilde Dusoulier, a Parisian who shares her passion for all things food: recipes, cookbooks, products, tools, restaurants, ideas, and inspirations.
GASBBQ.net. The members of Gastronomic Appreciation Society know how to have fun. In 1996 they were having barbecue for lunch in Kansas City and a debate began over which barbecue restaurant was best. After more than a decade, they have visited about 100 and posted their reviews and ratings on their website. If you're going to KC, you need to go to the G.A.S. website first.
ImCooked.com. Not just recipes, but videos. Some of them are very helpful.
Letsbake. Home of Cordon Bleu Baking Chef/Instructor Tom Beckman. He knows his dough. Good podcasts, too.
Mark Stevens. I met Mark in one of the online message boards and have learned a thing or two from him and his tips. You can too. His home made website has great links, and some good recipes and tips.
Meathenge. This Kalifornia kid kan kook kewl. With an attitude.
Meatpaper. Well written and photographed. This professional meatcentric blog/magazine is devoted to "Fleischgeist" which the publishers define as "spirit of the meat". From Zeitgeist, "spirit of the times".
Memphis Bar-B-Q Blog. The Memphis Commercial Appeal's Leslie Kelly and Dave Darnell cover the wide world of Memphis Barbecue.
The Pioneer Woman Cooks. She calls herself Ree, she lives in Oklahoma, and she knows how to cook, write recipes, and take pix. My favorite part is the fact that she documents the recipe with bright, sharp, well composed photos. Readers ask questions, make comments, and offer suggestions. Fun stuff!
Postcards from Scotsylvania. Scot Murphy is a very smart, witty, fella, and a pretty good cook too. His blog covers barbecue, gardening, politics, comics, and "ruminations about the universe, occasional whining, snarkiness, stuff like that."
RonShewchuk.com. By day, Ron Shewchuk is a mild mannered coporate communications consultant. In the evening and weekends, you can find "Rockin Ronnie" slinging meat. The head of Alberta's feared cooking team "Butt Shredders", he is also the author of Barbecue Secrets: Unbeatable Recipes, Tips and Tricks from a Barbecue Champion and his website has some good tips and recipes.
SliceNY.com. This guy knows NY pizza, where to buy it and how to make it, and your mouth will water when you see his pix.

Waiterrant.net. Home site of the best selling book Waiter Rant: Thanks for the Tip - Confessions of a Cynical Waiter. Funny stuff.
WhiteTrashBBQ. The story of a BBQ obsessed Brooklyn guy who dreams of producing award winning barbeque. He competes around the nation in the KCBS barbecue competition circuit, documents his cooks and those of others he meets, and has even been known to post while he is cooking! Fun stuff, especially if you are thinking of getting on the circuit.
Wineloverspage.com. Robin Garr's excellent wine and food blog.
